まずは動画や実際の刷り本を用いて便利堂コロタイプ工房を紹介、コロタイプにまつわるガイダンスを行います。次にワークショップスタジオに併設の暗室に移動し、コロタイプティシュー（版）を用いて画像の露光と現像のプロセスを説明します。コロタイプのおおよその成り立ちをご理解いただいた後は、ご自身のイメージが焼き付けられたティシューを用いてテスト刷りを重ね、ティシューやインキの調子を見ながら納得のいく1枚を耳付きの和紙はがきに仕上げましょう！

※備考
・環境や人体に負荷のないDAS感光剤を用いた版を使います。安心してご参加ください。
・製版準備の都合上、作品にしたい写真画像を開催の1週間前までに提出していただきます。
・油性のインキを使用しますので、当日はよごれてもよい服装でご参加ください。
・エプロン、手を拭くタオル、昼食をお持ちください。

1-DAY COURSE

On the first day, our Master Printer will guide you through exposing and developing the plate that has been pre-coated with the collotype photo-sensitizer. Using your plate, you will then carry out a series of test prints on Japanese deckle-edged rice paper. At the end, you will be able to take home your finished print.

*Note:
– Benrido Collotype Academy will be using a new process of plate making developed from the traditional glass plate. Participants will learn to use this new process which uses a monochrome negative (collotype tissue) as the plate for printing. This collotype tissue provides the base where the negative can be coated with the gelatin solution, infused with the DAS – Photosensitizer that is nontoxic to the human body and the environment.
– You will need to submit your image data at least one week before the course starts in order for us to prepare the plate for you.
– Please come wearing clothes you don’t mind getting ink or marks on in.
– Please bring your own apron, towel for hand-wiping and packed lunch.
