Mamiyo Okuda’s works made a very beautiful impression on me. Especially, the highlight in this “Graceful White” is touching. In her submitted portfolio, some works are expressed with dark shadows, and some with smooth halftones. And, all of those pictures effectively bring out the beauty of a woman. As a collotype printer and atelier craftsman, I voted for her portfolio because of the potential that her work would express values of collotype. Printing works that have both smooth whites and shadows is, of course, very difficult, however, her works made me feel like challenging that.
